**ANNOUNCEMENT From the Chief of Police**

Within the next 90 days the Ferris Police Department will be starting a new Citizens on Patrol Program (COP). The purpose of this program will be to enhance crime prevention and community policing efforts by empowering the citizen volunteers to ACTIVELY patrol their community and assist in some police operations. In the days to come there will be more detailed information about this new exciting program for the citizens of Ferris.
